Making a Cultural Difference

Twenty-five years ago, a group of community leaders came together with a dream – to nurture the cultural “heart and soul” of Collingwood by founding a non-profit, summer theatre company.  They envisioned a vibrant, well-rounded community, enlivened and connected by arts & culture.

Theatre Collingwood has come a long way since then.  It is now a year-round, non-profit theatre company. While the majority of theatre patrons are regional, many are drawn from across Southern Ontario.

For those who have applauded the work of Theatre Collingwood since the beginning, and those who more recently joined our audience, thank you for support.  You know that Theatre Collingwood is making a cultural difference.

The importance of your support

Ticket sales and other earned revenue cover 55% of our production costs each year. Only 3% comes from government funding, for special projects (not operations). Theatre Collingwood relies on the support of individuals, companies and foundations to bridge the gap and remain vibrant and dynamic.

“Theatre connects us as Canadians because of our common social values.  Theatre also connects us together as inhabitants of this Earth.  There is much to celebrate in our similarities which I daresay far out number our differences.”

Artistic Director
