about Group Discounts

How many in a group?

A group is considered 10 or more, ordered in advance. We prefer 30 days advance notice.

What is the group discount rate?

$5 per ticket. The tickets must be purchased for the same performance.

Do I receive complimentary tickets if I order a large group?

Groups of 30+ receive 2 complimentary theatre tickets.

May I purchase group tickets at the door?

To qualify for a group rate, group tickets must be ordered in advance. Door sales are not available for the group rate.

Can I send several cheques or split my payment on multiple credit cards?

No. The transaction must be made in one payment per group order.

What if I need to change the number of people in my group after I submit a group order?

When ordering for a group, you should request the maximum amount of seats that you will need. You can reduce the number of tickets in your order prior to final payment without penalty. After the 30-day deadline, all sales are final. Depending on availability, you can also add tickets to your order, up to 24 hours prior to your performance.

What if someone in my group doesn’t show up?

No refunds are available for unused tickets on the day of performance.

Do you offer reserved seating?

Yes! If your group is over 10+, we can even offer you a seating map of the theatre, designating your group seats. Ensure the best available seating for your group by ordering early.

When should my group arrive at the theatre?

We recommend your group arrives at least 30 minutes before showtime. If you are picking tickets up at the door, please allow extra time to distribute them to your group. The audience chamber opens ½ hour prior to the performance.

Do we have to sit together?

Not necessarily. Some groups like to spread out and we’ll do our best to accommodate your wishes, subject to availability.

Can I make special requests on my order?

Certainly. If, for example, someone in your group requires an aisle seat, or prefers to sit close to the front, please note that special request on your order form.

What if members of our group come late?

Latecomers are not admitted until an appropriate break. Please advise your group to schedule plenty of time.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

While there are wheelchair locations at the back of the audience chamber, there are unfortunately no wheelchair accessible washrooms.

What about walkers?

There are six steps leading from street level to the theatre level. Kindly advise us in advance, and our House Manager can open the side Ontario Street door which has a fairly steep ramp leading directly into the theatre.

Is motorcoach parking available?

Please advise us if you are coming by bus so we can make arrangements on Ontario Street beside the theatre and recommend where the bus driver may park.

Where does the public park?

Public parking is available on surrounding streets or the municipal parking lots accessed from St. Marie Street (one block east of Hurontario St. and one block north of Ontario Street). There is also a large lot located on Pine Street (one block west and one block north). Please advise your group to allow plenty of time for parking. The downtown area can be very busy during the daytime. There is a two hour limit for metered street parking on Hurontario Street during the day. Meters on side streets allow longer time limits.

What if we want to customize our group event?

Theatre Collingwood’s knowledgeable Box Office staff can recommend eating establishments, organize a theatre tour, a post-performance “meet the director/technical staff” or suggest sightseeing stops enroute.

Are there special group rates for students?

High School students may purchase $5 EyeGO tickets with proof of valid student ID card with photo. A limited number of tickets are available for every performance.

Are there discussions about the performances?

We do not have a pre-arranged Q&A, so please just ask us in advance. We are committed to making your group visit memorable.

Can my organization ‘buy out’ a show?

To secure a date, buy-out arrangements must be made well in advance. Buy-outs are based on availability.

Is your venue licensed?

No. Only water is permitted in the theatre. Ice Cream is sold in the concession area.

What else is there to do?

Located in the heart of downtown Collingwood, The Gayety Theatre is steps away from boutiques, chocolatiers, ice cream parlours, cafes, museums, professional art galleries and more!

Do you have a Deposit & Handling Fee policy?

A $100 deposit is required in advance to confirm a group booking. Confirmation of the number of guests in the party and the remaining payment is due 30 days prior to the performance. After 30 days, if you cancel your block of tickets, the deposit is non-refundable. Tickets will be released after May 1st. Tickets may be picked up at the theatre, or mailed in advance. Regardless, there is a $10 handling fee. Your order will be acknowledged by an invoice.

Is there an exchange policy?

Group tickets may be exchanged for another date (minimum one week in advance) for a handling fee of $2.50 per ticket, subject to availability.

What if there is a serious storm and my group can’t make it to the theatre?

In the event that a show is cancelled due to seriously inclement weather, we will make every effort to reschedule your group for a different performance of the same production. If we are unable to reschedule your group, we will issue a refund at the discretion of the GM.

What methods of payment are accepted?

VISA, Mastercard, cheque, cash, or money orders are accepted. Sorry, debit is not available. For bookings within 2 weeks of a performance, a credit card is required for full payment at the time of reservation.

Do you have brochures which I can share with my group?

Absolutely! Please send us your contact information.

How do I make a group reservation?
