Brief History Theatre Collingwood was officially incorporated in 1984. The company became renowned for producing large scale musicals during the boom period of the 1980's, but was drawn down by the recessionary pressures of the times and suspended production for nearly a decade. Since the company's 1998 revival, five summer seasons and twenty-one new productions have been mounted. Artistic Vision and Commitment to Canadian Content Steven ThomasSteven Thomas was appointed Artistic Director in 1997. The artistic vision is to produce a range of outstanding Canadian and international literature presented by the finest talent possible. The focus is 20th Century literature in its broad array of styles and themes, appealing to a wide range of audience sensibilities and tastes.
